One of the longest established and leading international conferences in the data mining sector, the Pacific-Asia Conference on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining (PAKDD) provides an international forum for researchers and industry practitioners to share new ideas, original research results and practical developments.  Professor Zhang Min Ling, the committee programme co-chair from the Southeast University, China, says: “We came to Macao to promote data mining. The event was a great success, we have received lots of positive feedback. It all went very smoothly, from planning to the execution of the event. We are glad that we chose Macao as the destination of this event.” This event meets the ICCA (International Congress and Convention Association) criteria for international meetings.  It has been previously held in Hong Kong and Shenzhen.

Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining (KDD) is an interdisciplinary area focusing on data mining, data warehousing, machine learning, artificial intelligence, databases, statistics, knowledge engineering, visualisation, decision-making systems and the emerging applications.“Data mining is widely used in all major companies and is a core supporting technology in Artificial Intelligence (AI),” says Zhang.“AI development is now in great demand in the market as it is essential to data analysis. Not only IT companies but manufacturing and traditional industries also consider data inseparable from analysis. Data has no value without being analysed. In the era of big data, data is analysed to provide a better experience to customers.”
