The highlight of the international boxing calendar and one of the biggest boxing events in the world, the 36th IBF Annual Convention & IBF Championship Super Gala 2019 brought a unique mix of conference and spectacle to Macao.
The programme includes a 3-day conference, championship competition, 1-day city tour, social run, welcome cocktail and gala awards dinner.
The hosting of the 36th IBF Annual Convention demonstrates Macao’s ability to host events of any type and scale. Mr. Wang Rui Hang, the president of IBF “Belt and Road” and IBF China, shares his experience of hosting this prestigious event in Macao. “The IBF has held competitions and its conference in Macao for three consecutive years,” says Wang. “As one of the world’s biggest boxing events, the IBF Annual Convention attracts 520 professional representatives from more than 30 countries and regions.
On June 1, the highly anticipated IBF Championship Super Gala was staged in Macao, bringing 20 world famous professional boxing champions to the city.” This event was previously held in Beijing, Italy and the United States in the last three years and qualifies as an ICCA (International Congress and Convention Association) event. The other attractions of Macao also prove a hit with the delegates. Wang says, “Macao provides a great sense of Chinese and Western culture. At the same time its friendliness makes the vast majority of international guests feel at home.”
